Marine Girls (Tracey Thorn, Jane Fox, Alice Fox and Gina Hartman) were an English post-punk group formed in 1980. Their debut album, Beach Party was recorded and released in 1981. Beach Party was named as one of Kurt Cobain's 50 favourite albums in his diaries. It has been reissued and repressed to celebrate National Album Day, along with their second album Lazy Ways (originally released on Cherry Red Records in 1983). The Marine Girls split amicably in 1983; Tracey concentrating on a solo career and going on to form Everything But The Girl and the Fox sisters (Jane and Alice), went on to form Grab Grab The Haddock with Lester Noel (later to play in Beats International). This is a very welcome repress of a classic Two-Fer.
